Day 20 (July 11): Wimbledon

We had tickets and were planning to go in 2020. So 3 years later --- here we finally are!

I mentioned the matches yesterday. Jill bought Rosewater Pavilion tickets for a nice multi course lunch before the matches & British Tea at 4-6pm during the festivities. When we walked in the gate for Rosewater Pavilion, former British professional tennis player Greg Rusedski greeted us, spoke to us for about 5 minutes and posed for pictures with us.

While we were eating lunch they handed us tickets to our seats in centre court and made us sign for them.

Swiatek vs Svitolina was a great first match. Svitolina played well in the first set then lost her serve during the second set but got things back in the third and closed out the set for an upset win! We went back for afternoon tea although they offered coffee too so my personal choice was an Americano.

They served us this huge tray of snacks plus the cheese course meant to finish lunch that we skipped to go watch the tennis.

The Rosewater Pavilion was wonderful so I assume Jill gave them positive feedback on the comment card they handed us during tea & snacks. They let me take a glass of red wine over to the Djokovic vs Rublev match as we headed back to the tennis.

The match was really good but Rublev couldn't beat Djokovic despite the crowd mostly cheering for him. Djokovic definitely had some great points.
