Day 19 (July 10): Oslo -> London

We ended our amazing time in Norway by heading to London. At the SAS lounge in Oslo, Jill asked about food on the flight today. The delivery company apparently notified them about a problem preventing meat & fish delivery so "We will be delivering pizza straight to the airplane". This also probably explains the food selection in the lounge of breads, crackers, veggie soup, pasta, salad, corn, and beets.

They had Carlsberg, White Wine, and Red Wine taps in the lounge. The red was not worth the calories after two test sips.

On the plane or at the hotel I saw the matches on center court we will be in person for tomorrow. Swiatek vs Svitolina and Rublev vs Djokovic. Details tomorrow...

After unpacking for the final time, we went to the bar @ Connaught Hotel. Well known place for spectacular cocktails - we started standing at the bar but within the 5 minutes it took to make our beverage choices, they had a table for us. The smoky cocktail with rum & more that I selected was delicious. Jill's was a bit sweeter with some amaro and gin.

Dinner was at a restaurant called Hide. The front door was a subtle blend into the building but Jill spotted it immediately. As we ate our starter the table next to us informed us we had a drawer on the side of our table with a massive phone charger in it. Jill had commented on their charger. Hidden under every table in a drawer. Nice touch!

That couple next to us was celebrating her birthday tonight. We had some interesting exchanges as dinner unfolded and they were ahead of us so some of our choices were the same and some intrigued them.

I ordered the acorn cake with a rum finish that was a hot cinnamon bun inside a pan that toasted/bubbled the poured on liquid. I paired this with a Tokaji wine and the combo was superb. I need to experiment with this non chocolate goodness combo.
